Roy Wilson Fire Station,

The Roy Wilson Fire Station is
a heavy, urban (3-bay)
fire station of approximately 9,100 square feet with a training
classroom facility of about 6,200 square feet and a training
tower of just over 9,000 square feet operated in conjunction
with College of the Desert. In addition, there are many
amenities and technologically advanced enhancements, such as
concrete ditches and manholes for conducting a variety of
realistic crises, such as flooding, mud pit rescues, car fires,
and kitchen fires. The Station is
under
the supervision of the Riverside County Fire Department. It
is an all-risk station providing a full range of services
including, municipal and wild-land fire protection and
prevention services; pre-hospital emergency medical services
including paramedics; hazardous materials response; and
technical rescue services. They have a professional staff and
work in conjunction with the Thousand Palms Volunteer Company
that is open to the community for those who’d like to get
involved. |
